Our Work
We are proud of the work we have done, but sometimes we are not allowed to talk about it - which is a shame.
So here is a small selection of what we can discuss, some conceptual, some manufactured...

We started from the premise that the original umpires chair was unfit for purpose.
Early work reflected existing designs with a contemporary flair - it was only when we confronted what a chair was, ironically by looking at a table lamp, that we found a solution.
The CAD model was rendered into a realistic background and sponsor's logos applied. The next stage was to build a prototype.

Boomer Tournament Umpire's Chair.
The existing umpire's chair was simply unfit for use - it's uncomfortable, leading to fatigue based errors, hard to brand, too large for spectators and difficult for TV companies to mount their equipment on. Although there is a legacy aspect to sports like tennis, there comes a time when the disadvantages outweigh the heritage.
The new rise and fall cantilever design is easy to brand, comfortable for the the umpire, useful to broadcasters and players and slim for spectators.
Other than a ball, the core piece of equipment for Shoop would be a two-sided stand with a board with a circular hole/hoop in it.
The biggest issue was finding a compromise between a fun object and a training device - something that is easy to use and is fun enough to encourage repeat play, whereas the training device has to be challenging and useful.

Shoop.
Shoop is both a fun, cool street/park game as well as a serious, useful training tool. The brand, rules and equipment reflect these qualities.
The game is usually played “around” the stand which is placed in the centre of a wider area like a playground or sports hall.
